Some Background
"New York Noise is an hour-long TV show which airs Wednesday nights at 11 pm on nyctv (generally channel 25) in New York and parts of New Jersey and Connecticut. It is also viewable on the web" (from wikipedia)
On Thursday February 25th, NYC Media Group posted on their facebook group that "'NY Noise' is currently on hiatus." This announcement came several weeks after NYCTV started playing reruns of the show and then moved it to a predawn timeslot. We were disappointed to hear this news and feared for the show's future. New York Noise is one of only two shows anywhere on television in NYC that cover local and independent music.
We hope you will join us in speaking up in support of this critically-acclaimed show, which every week for eight seasons has brought to the airwaves the work of hundreds of local musicians, producers, filmmakers and other creative New Yorkers.
Let the NYC Media Group (an organization funded by your tax dollars) know that you value coverage of local and independent music. Add your name to our petition to bring New York Noise back to NYCTV. We will collect your names and deliver them to the relevant decision-makers.
You can also support us by joining our facebook group and checking back here. We will keep you up to date on this effort
Thanks for your support!
